Administration is the day-to-day running of a Beckman project. You have one person for scope questions, the schedule, and closeout. A field note that never reaches the file does not change the contract.
01
The project lead
The lead owns the written scope, the schedule you were given, and the list of open issues.
When the drawing and the site disagree, that person records the decision, the cost, and the time before extra work proceeds.
- Named on the agreement
- Reachable on business days
- Writes the decision
- Stays through handover
02
What you see
Progress is reported against the schedule. An issue names the area, the cause, and the next date.
A change states what is added or removed, what it costs, and how the finish date moves. A message can start that record. It is not the record.
- Schedule status
- Open issues
- Accepted changes
- The next decision
03
Closing the file
Administration ends when punch items are closed or dated, the inspections named in the contract are done, and you have the handover papers.
Leaving the site is not the same as closing the file.
How a job actually moves
-
01
Open the file
Scope, schedule, and who decides field questions.
-
02
Report against it
Progress and issues use the same names as the scope.
-
03
Record a change
Cost and time accepted before extra work.
-
04
Hand the file over
Inspections, punch items, and your copies.
Straight answers
Is administration billed separately?
It is how the project is run. It is not offered as a standalone retainer on this site.
Can we deal only with the crew?
The crew takes direction from the lead. Decisions about cost or scope still go into the file.
Where is live status?
On the contract status page, using your contract number, plus the reports the lead sends.
What to send about an open project
- The contract number, if work has started
- The decision you need
- The area of the building
- Any date that cannot move
The office replies within one business day. A reply is not a contract. Work starts when you accept the written scope.
